Author and academic.

Must write or subject to mood swings. Sci-fi, fantasy, literary fiction. Short stories in places including Reactor. Occasional poet. Represented by Alexander Cochran at C&W.

Lecturer in Publishing at City, University of London. Humanities Visiting Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Doctorate in Creative and Critical Writing from UEA, investigating hope in dystopian climate fiction. Secretary and Podcast Co-Host for ASLE UKI.

MA in Ancient History from King’s College London (2014), MA in Creative Writing: Prose Fiction from UEA (2019). Researcher-in-Residence 2022 for the British Haiku Society. Dr Jasmin Kirkbride is an author and academic. Her short fiction has appeared in places including Reactor and her poetry in magazines including Presence and Frogpond.

She is a Lecturer in Publishing at City, University of London. Her PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia (UEA) explored hope in dystopian climate fiction. She’s had chapters and papers published in peer-reviewed journals and a Routledge collection. She also holds an MA Creative Writing (UEA) and an MA Ancient History (King’s College London).

Previously, Jasmin spent some years in publishing, notably as a book trade journalist for BookBrunch, as the Publishing Director at Endeavour Media, and as a freelance editor and writing mentor.
